The 2013 Summer Academy will take place June 10-21, 2013 and is sponsored by the Durango School District 9-R Gifted Program. This 34th annual program is for academically motivated students entering grades 2-9 in the fall of 2013. Registration is open to any student that is interested in attending an enrichment summer school program. Teacher recommendations are welcome but not required.

Parents of minority students, please join the Minority Student Achievement Task Force on Wednesday, May 22 at 6pm to share your stories. The MSATF is looking for parents to provide feedback to the district to identify supports that are either helping or hindering our minority students' academic success.

At the upcoming ‘Mesa Madness’, an annual garage sale event hosted by Florida Mesa's PTO, 4th graders will be holding a fundraiser for Syrian refugees.  Come by and show your support for the PTO and school, and pitch in to help 4th graders purchase a “Shelter Box” to serve one extended refugee family in Lebanon. The event is on Saturday, May 18, 2013, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
